This is the gear I recommend you have.

• A DSLR camera (full frame or crop)
• A lens that is NOT a kit-lens
• Tripod

If you don't already have a DSLR camera, I recommend getting the Nikon D5600 - I had an earlier version of this camera as my first camera and it was such a great camera! I miss it sometimes (although, I am very happy that I upgraded to my full frame). Now, I recommend you buying JUST the camera, and then using the money you'd save to get the Nikon 50mm 1.8 (or the Nifty Fifty!). If you want to read more about this lens, you can learn more here.
